Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 26, 2026

Didon ("we", "us", or "our") operates the didon.app website and the Didon macOS application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website and app.

1. Information We Collect

Website and account data

When you use our website or create an account, we may collect:

  • Name and email address when you register or sign in
  • Communication preferences and support messages
  • Transaction and payment information (processed by our payment provider)
  • Usage data and interaction with our website and services

We also automatically collect certain information when you visit our website, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, and cookies.

Didon macOS app data

The Didon desktop app is designed with privacy as a core principle. When you use the app:

  • Didon captures periodic screenshots of your screen (every 30 seconds while monitoring is active) to understand your work activity
  • Screenshots are analyzed locally on your Mac using on-device AI — they are not uploaded to our servers or sent to third-party AI services
  • Work logs, daily reports, and activity summaries are saved locally on your Mac at ~/Documents/Didon/
  • Your configured projects, categories, and app preferences are stored locally on your device
  • Didon requires Screen Recording permission on macOS to capture screenshots. This permission is used solely for local productivity tracking

We do not receive, store, or have access to your screenshots, screen content, or locally generated work logs unless you explicitly choose to share them with us (for example, when contacting support).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide, maintain, and improve our website and app services
  • To process purchases, manage licenses, and deliver customer support
  • To notify you about changes to our services
  • To detect, prevent, and address technical issues and fraud
  • To analyze website usage and improve our marketing and product experience

The Didon macOS app processes your screen activity entirely on your device to generate productivity reports. This processing does not involve sending your screen data to us.

3. Local Processing and Data Storage

All screenshot capture and AI analysis in the Didon macOS app happens locally on your Mac. Your activity data remains on your computer unless you manually export or share it.

Local files are stored in ~/Documents/Didon/, including daily work logs (WorkLogs/YYYY-MM-DD.csv) and summary reports (Daily-Reports.csv). You can delete these files at any time by removing the Didon folder from your Documents directory or uninstalling the app.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate our website and business (such as payment processors and email delivery services), subject to confidentiality obligations.

We do not share your screenshots, screen recordings, or locally generated work logs with third parties.

5. Data Protection

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

  • Encryption of data in transit and at rest for website and account data
  • Access controls and authentication measures
  • Regular security assessments

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access, update, or delete your account information by contacting us
  • Stop all screen capture by quitting Didon or revoking Screen Recording permission in macOS System Settings
  • Delete all locally stored Didon data by removing ~/Documents/Didon/ from your Mac
  • Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any promotional message

7. Children's Privacy

Didon is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
